چکیده

A novel type of dynamics conserving activity in neural networks is presented. We distinguish stochastic and deterministic activity-conserving dynamics. As an example, deterministic (mean-eld) activity-conserving dynamics is applied to the N-queens problem. The new dynamics are more succesful in nding valid solutions than the standard dynamics.

A Lazy-Binding Communication Protocol for Highly Dynamic Wireless Sensor Networks

Wireless sensor networks are characterized by limited availability and reliability of the wireless channel and by high rates of node failure. These pose challenging requirements for communication protocols. Beyond these inherent limitations, node mobility and energy conserving protocols that power down nodes, introduce additional dynamics to routing protocols. Since routing performance depends ...

Fluid Queueing Networks

We introduce a new method to investigate stability of work-conserving policies in multiclass queueing networks. The method decomposes feasible trajectories and uses linear programming to test stability. We show that this linear program is a necessary and sufficient condition for the stability of all work-conserving policies for multiclass fluid queueing networks with two stations. Furthermore, ...

Complex Networks and Dynamics of an Information Network Model

Networks have become the key to uncover the patterns of interactions in man-made structures and in complex systems in nature. The internet, the proteins in our cells and the web-pages we daily browse form networks. Despite their widely different origins the networks have many interesting features in common. We need a better understanding of both man-made structures, like the internet, and of ne...

Pareto Optimization of Two-element Wing Models with Morphing Flap Using Computational Fluid Dynamics, Grouped Method of Data handling Artificial Neural Networks and Genetic Algorithms

A multi-objective optimization (MOO) of two-element wing models with morphing flap by using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) techniques, artificial neural networks (ANN), and non-dominated sorting genetic algorithms (NSGA II), is performed in this paper. At first, the domain is solved numerically in various two-element wing models with morphing flap using CFD techniques and lift (L) and drag ...

Emergency department resource optimisation for improved performance: a review

Emergency departments (EDs) have been becoming increasingly congested due to the combined impacts of growing demand, access block and increased clinical capability of the EDs. This congestion has known to have adverse impacts on the performance of the healthcare services. Attempts to overcome with this challenge have focussed largely on the demand management and the application of system wide p...
